i don't know what possessed me to do this except i wanted to see if my handiwork worked. when i discarded my old scanner, i saved the "bed", the part with the glass where you put your photo to be scanned. the glass was attached to a frame that was grey in colour. since i had a leftover black paint in my palette, i decided to paint the frame in black and i attached a black cardboard underneath. it almost didn't work but i figured the placement of the light had to be right. and there you have it. tweaked the exposure a little in ribbet and i got a low key effect.
i would've loved to have fresh gummies because these now are a little bit hard to chew, but i thought i had already a lot of sweets today so i just ate the one and only root beer flavour.
I think it worked out perfectly! When I first saw it I thought it was a picture from Chris because he often works with gummies. You got the reflections just right.
I am with Karly I think it worked wonderfully, I love repurposing items rather than simply adding them to the dump. Love the colours and composition! Fav!
ooohhh -- I like the creative lighting of gummibären! Reminds me a bit of my Sumiskis that live above my beds so I can see them glowing in the dark at night from bed.
What a great effect you got! All the work you put in was worth it. I just wish I was better able to envision the set up because I have an old scanner that may or may not need to be repurposed. Probably kidding myself to think I’d ever actually do anything like this with it. Kudos!
