we had beautiful weather all day with slightly cold temperatures but it all was gone by early evening when it clouded over and some parts of the city was rained on. so that when the sun was setting and its light hit the clouds in the southeast, an iota of a rainbow appeared above the waters of lake ontario. however faint and small, it was worth taking a photo, if only for posterity.
last night i went to bed at past midnight and woke up at 1:26 and no matter what i did i couldn't go back to sleep. so i decided to get some cold water to drink and when i looked out the living room windows, the waning moon was right above that tall building and the whole living room was bathed in dark golden hue. when i went back to bed, i could actually make out the moon through the curtains. a song came in my head which lulled me to sleep. when i woke up in the morning and through the whole day i've been singing "the first of may". only after i took this photo did i realize that today is the first day of may.
what's the point of the story, you ask? nothing. there's never really any need for a point sometimes. it just is.
