last thursday, i took a detour from my normal route going home from downtown. i took a bus that would take me to the pharmacy near my place. i sat in one of the elevated seats of the bus so i could try and photograph anything i see. i didn't realize that it is the bus that plies through toronto's elite neighbourhood, servicing the service staff and workers of the residents. i remembered quite a few of the large mansions from way back in 2012 when, as a member of the toronto botanical garden, we visited the gardens of the rich and famous! the side of the roads are decorated with large planters of flowers and mostly the really large mansions have their own landscaping designs just for the outside.
i remembered one particular "house" that has a really large garden where we entered on one of the side streets and exited two blocks away. we never set foot inside the house but we all marveled at its exterior designs, the breathtaking gardens and the olympic sized outdoor pool. there were three head gardeners each in-charge of different areas of the surrounding gardens. they all had phd's in gardening or whatever course it is you take to study gardening. a phd, can you imagine.
this structure was in the neighbourhood of the rich people's abodes; of course, where else would it be situated!
It's a lovely old building. Wow three gardeners with Phds looking after a garden that covers two blocks - makes you wonder what the owners of that house must be worth!!
On a more personal note the books are in the mail. I’m not sure when they will get there but I certainly hope they will be useful to your sister!
