life's a beach by summerfield

life's a beach

i'd have submitted this to the artsy gang for critique but somehow i couldn't get in.

saw a tutorial with this point of view so i thought i'd do my own version. i had wanted a boat and that big rock actually started as a boat, but even though it was blue and yellow, it still looked like a cockroach to me. so i turned it into rocks. same thing with the other group of rocks, started out as two driftwoods but i didn't like the way they looked so i turned them into rocks. kinda like medusa, turning everything she sees into rocks.

i think it would've been better if i just left the beach alone, made it look like a deserted beach. but no! i couldn't. methinks i should stick to painting lighthouses! 🤣

one thing i noticed though is that when i paint i am more at it when i start and finish it in one go, or at least almost finished. if i start something and leave it for two three days, i lose my mojo. pfft! and there i was wanting to start doing big canvases. what an ambitious so and so.
I love the motion in the water and your composition with the palm trees. It is an unusual POV.I especially like how the water is breaking on the rocks!

Great movement in the water and fabulous palm trees. I like the trees so much I would have liked more and less sea.

I feel like I'm standing on a cliff looking down at the beach. I like the white water of the waves.
