the photographer's eye was on point this morning during my walk. passed by this still very green leaf on the pavement, away from the grassy ground where its tree stood surrounded by its fallen coloured leaves. either this one decided to just get it over with or a squirrel caused its demise. in any case, it looked stark against the gray background and i thought it would be a good post for this week's theme of "simplicity" for the 52 captures challenge.
i was at the market today to get some raw nuts which are now part of my daily diet. it being the market, there were many shops selling different things, and then there was a pastry shop with all the goodies that i've been ignoring the last few months. i saw that they had a blondie and a marshmallow brownie, then i saw a date and coconut square so i bought one of each and just before the lady closed the box, i saw a 'napoleon', a cake layered in light creme and thin phyllos. but i bought them because i was going to my sister's place and the many times we went to the market, she would look at the sweets but wouldn't buy any in deference to my dieting. she was appalled and was concerned that i would binge on sweets just because my my bloodwork results were great. i allowed myself to partake of the sweets, but only a small portion, each as small as my thumb and not more. only to find out that it's only my eyes that were craving the sweets; what i consumed was more than enough for me. as soon as i got home, i had an apple!
Whoa! You’ve really managed to change the way your body tells you what it really wants and needs. Good for you. As for the leaf, it’s a real standout. I think it landed there hoping someone with a good eye would come by and immortalize it with a photo.
I don't see the problem with celebrating the way you feel like! You go, girl :) no-one else's business.
Nice simple image, I like the direction of the stripes
Quite the opposite of the typical autumn leaf shot. I like the dark green leaf and the background full of white and gray and black.
I'm very impressed of the changes you have made.
Your story is so motivating and encouraging.

Amazing how the taste buds can be retuned.
Love the simplicity and textures of this photo ! FAV
