"Now the stage is bare and I'm standing there
With emptiness all around
And if you won't come back to me
Then they can bring the curtain down" - Turk/Handman, songwriters
something weird happened. i usually wake up at around three at night to go to the bathroom. as soon as i was back in bed, a hooded shadow appeared beside the bed. i knew i closed the door to my bedroom; did this person follow me in or was he already waiting inside when i came in. i lay still and the shadow sat on the edge of the bed. i felt the mattress dip slightly from his weight. then he leaned his left arm over on my other side so that if i try to roll down the bed, his body would block me, and if i try to roll to the other side, his arm would block me as well. my heart was racing wildly but i pretended i was sleeping. after i counted one to ten, i opened my eyes slightly to see him still there looking at me and due to the ambient light coming through the curtain, i saw the catchlight in his eyes. i closed my eyes again but i extended my left arm to reach for my monopod which i keep beside the bed, you know, just in case. well, i forgot that i placed the monopod near the door to my unit. i lay very still for a few seconds and i heard him sigh. when i opened my eyes, he wasn't there anymore.
i knew i was awake, as i just came from the bathroom. and that happened as soon as my back hit the bed so i could only attribute it to REM or rapid eye movement or paradoxical sleep. that or a spirit visited me, albeit by mistake. or maybe not. what do you think?
I think you scared me to death .... I don't do scary but couldn't stop reading because well you know, my mind could have made the story so much worse. Nights can be scary ... On another note I saw this on the treading page and said Vickii before I hovered over it and smiled because I was right :)

you two just gave me an idea. next time you find yourselves all spiffied up, please take a whole body selfie and send it to me. try making a pose with one arm extended as if you're introducing someone. that should make a really compelling composite with the piano.π
First of all, I like the scene you photographed. At first I thought film noir, but the flowers on the cushioned stool and the bright white of the piano made me change my mind. I guess your story put me in the film noir mood. What a crazy dream or spirit visit. Perhaps some of your meds or the foods you are eating are causing vivid dreams.
@randystreat - π€£ π€£ π€£ but i'm not taking any meds. i've not even been taking my vitamins/supplements. i've not eaten anything "new" in the last 4-5 months. π€£
A lovely composition and capture. These sort of dreams are scary and always remembered. I recently had a similar experience and the person I described in my dream was actually in a painting hanging up in my lounge my daughter pointed it out.
Please don't make me perform on stage at this piano!
I think that is a nice horror narrative... does it help you if you write it down?
Hope you are well.
I hope you can figure out who it was and what he wanted!
So good to see your piano again in this beautifully composed image! It has been a while since this one has starred in any of your photos.
