i braved the cold this morning and went for my walk. did the whole 5+ kilometres. the -14 temperature did not daunt me at all. there was no wind and my plan was to just head back home if i really got cold. but i just kept walking and didn't even notice that i had managed to walk far. (big difference from last friday morning when i thought i'd do only the four blocks around the apartment at -21 and managed only half!) tomorrow, it seems it's going to be cloudy but the temps will just be at -9 or -7 and as long as the wind is not very strong, i can do the 5 km again. i should take advantage if there's going to be another opportunity as it's forecasted we'd have another 6cm of snow by friday!
this is the park near the apartment building, and took this at the start of my walk.
pegging this for the 'weather' prompt this week of the forsgard 52 assignments.
That is a fair amount of snow to be walking in but I see the sidedwalk is bare. I always struggle more when walking in the cold if the wind is blowing too. It is surpriseing how much difference that can make in my tolerance.
@grammyn - i had to seize the opportunity as my body was screaming for the walk. my muscles don't seem to understand calisthenics or jogging in place. just want to go out and gallivant! 🤣
I have not been so brave. I hibernate during the winter. The snow is actually melting by us but we still have 100 days more of winter so it will be replaced with new stuff.
