the st. patrick's day parade was back in toronto after a two-year absence due to the pandemic. i went downtown and asked my sister to accompany me to take in the parade. i got quite a few good shots but this girl, all decked for the occasion, was my top choice as she sat on the pavement patiently watching the floats and the participants and sometimes enthusiastically waved and high-fived with them.
at one point, there was an older gentleman who was part of one of the irish associations in toronto who was asking the spectators 'who's irish?' i said, 'i'm irish!' very casually as i took a photo and every one around me also shouted they're irish. and as he walked past i said "sláinte" (in proper irish pronounciation, mind). he walked back and told the people 'she's irish!' but of course, i'm irish!🤣
Such a great image. Our parade returned this year. It’s very far from where I live so we didn’t go. From television it looks like it was well attended.
Cute shot. Alas, I am definitely not Irish- Scottish blood flows through me (with some Dutch, German and Welsh for added flavor). But I like Irish soda bread!
I love the low POV for this photo and the SC you have used Vikki.
Love your low PoV and your selective colour here.
Well done and A FAV!
