a different venue for the chair today. i can't think of anything else and my finale is still up in the air. well, i will let tomorrow take care of that.
today is the son's 46th birthday. i treated him, together with young onyx and my sister, to an italian restaurant. i thought we'd get away from the usual japanese or chinese fares. the weather was crappy as it had been raining since last night. the cheap raincoat i bought at amazon proved more than worth its price as it really did measure up to the touted waterproof quality. water was literally bouncing off the very light material. there was a brief downpour as i walked home from the bus stop. and it's been miserable since with alternating drizzle, downpour, thunder, lighting and late in the afternoon fog got mixed in.
the restaurant gave a free slice, quite a big slice, of chocolate mousse cake. at first the son didn't want the cake as he claimed he was too full having consumed his braised lamb shank with mashed potatoes and what-not. but i signaled the server to go ahead and so we had to sing him happy birthday. he was quite embarrassed but played along still. then he and young onyx tried to best each other in consuming the cake.
tagging this belatedly for week 18 of he 52 captures challenge, the theme of which is "out of place". it might mean a shot of something where one would normally find it as opposed to this which is a composite and thus a contrived one. but for now this would do. 😜
I am pretty sure this fits the 'out of place' bill. Your chair has got everywhere this month - it will be looking forward to a rest. Very convincing composite. We have seen the chair in so many places we barely bat an eyellid when the next appearance shows up. I shall miss these.
