one day last month when i was out and i didn't realize it was cold -- we were having a sort of heat wave and then suddenly we weren't -- i had to get something for cover as i was wearing a light shirt and a pair of skorts. i passed by a marshall's store and got lucky with this $24 denim jacket. the other choices were too thick or faded with ripped elbows and edges.
because i never liked wearing jeans or trousers, i always thought that i had never owned any denim clothing. my old photographs from the old country proved my thought wrong. i did own a pair of denim jeans and when the midi skirt was introduced after years of the mini skirt craze, i was the first one in my office to wear a long skirt, which was a wrap-around style and of denim material. then when i came to toronto, i also had a sleeveless wrangler brand denim dress with lots of brass buttons which i would wear like a jumper with a lacy blouse underneath. hmmm...i was in denial, clearly!
today is tuesday the 13th. did you know that in some countries in europe, this is their equivalent of our friday the 13th? don't be walking underneath a ladder or avoid a black cat then.

belatedly tagging this for week 17 of the 52 captures challenge; the challenge was "hands". look at those old woman's hands! how could one virtually not have wrinkles in the face (no surgeries there, thank you very much) but the hands are a dead give-away!
