i wasted a good two hours last night trying to paint a person sitting on a chair. i came up with a mysterious looking blob on a rocking chair and to think i was copying from my own self-portrait. so i abandoned that idea and opted for a musical rest symbol.

It has a very restful feel to it. well done (although your first attempt sounds far from restful). I used to write music for my grade 7 theory exam and found the process of scribing (I think that is a word) it quite cathartic.
