whilst having lunch at our office cafeteria, i noticed some human movements at the roof top herb garden of the Fairmont Royal York Hotel. the chef and his minions were gathering or harvesting some of the herbs which in all likelihood will be used for the evening's fares. how nice that they have placed garden chairs and tables which make the garden really attractive from our 34th floor view.
i didn't think the black and white would retain the same ambience of the shot so it stays in colour.
I love it - its almost like a draught board but you don't have to play! Frankly I would like to watch this all the time but its your office height so you can't!
@maggiemae - every time i go to the café i always take a look out and this was the first time i saw people at the garden. i almost watched the garden grow from the spring to now but the floor tiles i think must've been installed just recently. when you come next to toronto, i'll bring you up here so you can see it. actually, the hotel's guests can request to see the garden except perhaps during the winter. now, they probably can accommodate people to have afternoon tea there because of this new arrangement. i should and will inquire. thank you.
@salza - the café is on the 34th floor of the building so this has to be about 18 or so floors below. i'm not sure how many floors the hotel has. thank you, sally.
I think I love everything about this setting! I wouldn't mind the beautiful simplicity of that in my own back yard! I could live with a view like that on a work day!
