Ok, so the flower closeups are wearing thin, even for me! However it's spring, the sun is shining and I can't help but post another bloom. It's nearing the end of the Canada Tulip Festival, so in honour of that, I'll post another Tulip shot. This feathery one is "Lambada" and is happily located near the blue Gentian I posted yesterday ... thanks Sandy!
The pic was taken in full on sun, no edits, although it could probably use some. Feel free to make suggestions. I'm keen to learn and practice more ins and outs of photoshop.
Today's pic could have been a painted turtle or a wild male turkey in full feather .... but I FORGOT to bring my camera!!! Stay tuned, next road trip I'll remember the camera.
Thanks for dropping by. I read and appreciate each and every bit of feed back.
Fantastic detail on the fringed edge. You might add a tiny bit of saturation to the midtones to make the yellow fringe and stamens separate even more from the orange. Overall a lovely shot though even without anything additional.
@falcon11 Thanks everyone, I appreciate your comments. Allison, thanks in particular for your idea. I'm going to play with that and see what I can do! I haven't worked with saturation yet.
@karenr Hi Karen, thanks for the kind words. I'm not a Tulip expert by any means but from what I read, there are 15 or 16 Divisions of Tulips which classify them according to size, blooming time, etc. The Lambada is a Fringed (Division 7), while Parrot Tulips are Division 10. Fringed bloom later than Parrots .....
I would be no help! I have a mac and my program is Aperture! I am not even great with mine! I have learn through trial and error to get colors more true etc. I am sure you will as well. And...thx kindly for the fav.
This is simply stunning. I know what you mean about being tired of photographing close ups of flowers, but they are so fun to shoot, and to look at, so keep them coming.
@lauriehiggins@eudora yes, you've both got it right ... I just feel like I've had enough and then something else blooms! I have a LOT of different kinds of Hosta in the gardens - I hope for everyone else's sake I manage to refrain from posting pics of those! lol
