We saw quite a few butterflies in our back road travels. This White Admiral was quite accommodating, pausing long enough for me to get a pic but not prepared to show me any wing tops!
when i was a little girl a butterfly would sometime fly inside our house. my mother would say it was an omen, the soul of someone who died and was visiting us. the next day, we'd find out a relative in the province had died. that is why i grew up revering butterflies. this one is beautiful.
@lauriehiggins funny thing about the "water" droplets, Laurie ... it was a hot sunny day, just after noon or so, and there's no logical reason for water to be there, in fact I didn't even notice the droplets until I saw them on the computer. I like the green too, the butterfly could be better but I'd be hard pressed to improve on the leaves.
@summerfield nice story, Summerfield, thanks for sharing!
Your water droplet story cracked me up. After shooting about 50 shots of bees the other day, I took one "safety" shot of a flower. Guess what showed up in the corner of that flower? A very tiny bee.
