We had a few minutes to spare in our travels so we stopped at the lookout, over looking this unique marble quarry. The calcium carbonate material that comes out of here is a sparkling white, almost a glow-in-the-dark colour. It is used in the manufacture of various products, including paint, toothpaste, plastics, building products, and in paper and packaging manufacturing. It is the largest calcium carbonate quarry in Canada. Some people gather these stones for their landscaping! The picture is deceiving in size ... those ledges are actually roads.
Many thanks for dropping by and for the awesome comments and favs the past couple of days! Much appreciated!
Wonderful shot Anne.
