It was a preserving day at our house today. Seven jars of Salsa are done and a batch of Relish is soaking in a brine, waiting for processing later tonight. The salsa jars look huge but they're actually only 500 ml jars (~pint). We go through a lot of salsa over the winter so I'll have to do this again in the coming weeks.
Many thanks for dropping by. I may not be able to upload for a couple of days but I'll catch up after the weekend. Hope you all have a great long weekend!
@lynlong no Lyn, I wish. We don't have enough sun on our property. They're fresh and organic tho --- we have a generous neighbour who had a bumper crop this year.
Awesome photo! I love canning and have done a lot in the past. Since I had to go back to work, I do not have time anymore. Great shot and enjoy all of your hard work!
Wow: awsome job Anne, which you will be enjoying for months to come. Beautiful shot. Pictures of our everyday life events are often the best ones. Nice composition and capture.
wow! those look yummy. i'd like the recipe, too, if you don't mind. my naturopath doctor told me to have salsa instead of salad dressing to bring down my cholesterol in 10 weeks. fun wow it will be! wonderful shot, anne. it really shows how yummy the salsa is.
I stopped doing that some time ago . . but my daughter still carries on. Nothing like having your own "fruits of labor" in the winter months. Beautiful photo of these!!!
Love this, and it made my Mom so happy that you and she were doing the same thing today, and posted similar pictures! She wants your recipe too, but might be too shy to ask, so if you send it to me at lauriehiggins@comcast.net, I'll forward it. My husband wants to can some salsa too, so I will probably use it as well. Our garden is late ripening, but thankfully Irene didn't completely kill it. We planted mostly tomatoes and peppers, so I'm hoping to get enough ripe ones to start processing soon. Hope you have a lovely weekend!
Lovely colourful larder shot.
