I spent the afternoon at a fall gardening workshop. It was an awesome day weather-wise and a lot of good info was shared ... and most importantly, there were some good photo ops. ;-)
This Stinkbug [Acrosternum hilare] didn't budge off the echinacea while I took his pic. The life span of stinkbugs is about two months. If they are still alive when the weather gets cold, they hibernate in dead leaves until spring. They can fly well and they'll eat just about any plant material.
Wonderful capture. I love the color contrast. No yucks here. My sister is an entomologist so I grew up with a tank of them in our bedroom. I think this one is cute. :)
It sounds like the stink bug must be an enemy of yours if they eat plants indescriminately. Beautiful color combination on this photo and your focus is brilliant!
