Togetherness [alternate title - Puking and Gross Stuff]

The full-on sun wasn't doing me any favours from a photography point of view but it was great to have a sunny day otherwise. The mourning doves enjoyed it too. They sat here together for quite a while. I need to do some reading on how to avoid the glare in mid-day photos.

Many thanks for dropping by.
In spite of the mid-day shot, this turned out beautifully, Anne! Gorgeous color and texture .. and you've got to love the "little foot action!" I go out alot at mid-day (early afternoon) and fight with the lighting alot. Not a good time .. but it's when I get the best chance to go.

There's the rub.It is nice and sunny, but the shadows can be harsh. Great feather detail here.

Great capture, lots of fun to see the birds soak up the sun! I enjoy all the posts of the birds on the rail!

Couldn't come up with a funny caption, that foot and the open beak just cry out for one. I noticed that your iso was set at 400. Try 100 for a bright day. I took some shots of doves and they were badly overexposed because I'd forgotten to change my iso setting. I don't find this too bright, though.

@timandelke thanks elke! i was hoping to get some good advice for bright sunlight! i'll try that. As for the title, I was thinking along the lines of puking and gross stuff ... just took the high road! lol Ideas? Anyone?

Could be one of those 'comic asides'......"Just wait until she sees this....!"
Great detail and capture Anne, even with the harsher light.

Lyn
Your deck railing must be the most popular place around - these shots are lovely.

Despite the lighting, you have captured great detail in the feathers - nice shot and definitely interesting! I don't think I've ever seen a bird barf! :)

Delightful shot - love the scratch. Thanks for your interest in the milk delivery - I was really surprised at how much interest it generated. We used to live in Regina, and in Newfoundland s0 I'm familiar with the milk bags. I thought it was a great idea and very eco friendly. I also like your idea for using the bags. I know someone who uses 'charity' plastic bags to knit into designer handbags! There are some creative people around.
