On any given sunny afternoon this time of year, we're likely to see a pair of mourning doves basking and grooming themselves on the corner of the railing. There are lots of them around and it's hard to say if it's always the same pair.

@june yes, apparently they do june. at least one site said the pairs stay solitary but in our experience, we have little flocks of them all winter long.
One is standing guard and the other is napping. We have mourning doves too and I always love watching them peck around the ground. Hope you had a nice day.
