We have several Red Trilliums [Trillium erectum] growing on our property. The white version of this plant is our Provincial flower [Ontario, Canada] and can be seen in abundance in the woodland settings in north eastern North America. Red ones and pink ones are not as common. I know a keen plant enthusiast who goes for miles, photographing four, five and six petaled versions of all colours, which are all extremely rare.
Many thanks for dropping by.
ps. Nothing has changed at all since I posted a pic of these last year ;-)
These have such brilliant and beautiful colors!! Stunning, Anne. The first thing that I thought of was Christmas. That deep red and the green. I understand that photographer/plant enthusiast who will travel miles to capture a photo of these .... totally understand why he does.
Wonderful focus and colours! We called these Wake Robins, I believe! I miss that. Will there still be some in bloom in 10 days...I am travelling to Barry's Bay with my daughter and then to Sydenham to visit my F-i-L.
@lynnb yes, you might see some in spots where it's a bit colder/later on the barry's bay end of the trip. Ours just came out a few days ago and will last for a week or so at least. you should see lots of white ones --- they're just coming out now. safe travels lynn! thanks for dropping by.
