Here's another purple and orange combo, this time on a Pulsatilla. It's an interesting plant, known for both it's poisonous and medicinal features.
Here's a copy/paste from wiki: "Pulsatilla is highly toxic, and produces cardiogenic toxins and oxytoxins which slow the heart in humans. Excess use can lead to diarrhoea, vomiting and convulsions, hypotension and coma. It has been used as a medicine by Native Americans for centuries ... as a sedative and for treating coughs." It is also used for "reproductive problems ... and as an initial ingredient in homeopathic remedies."
Lovely focus and DOF. Interesting info about this plant. I already have a slow heart rate so I don't think I'll bother having a munch on this. It looks too pretty to eat anyway! Lol
Fantastic Capture! I do like the purple and orange - nature is great that way! Boy! Did not realize the beauty of this bloom could be so serious too! Nicely Done, Anne!
It's beautiful, Anne, another surprise as I am not familier with this flower. I've been away from internet the last few days taking only enough time to not get behind on posting. So, Happy Mother's Day late!
