Purple Pineapple

The centaurea have been blooming for a while now and I almost missed getting a pic of them this year. They're not my favourite plant in the gardens due to their floppy nature in July/Aug but the blooms are definitely one of my favourite to photograph.

I love the details on the base of this flower. You have such beautiful gardens. We're growing mostly vegetables (even in the flower beds), so I don't have many photo ops close to home this year.
