I've shown this rock cut view a number of times over the past couple of years. Just after the rock cut, the road is actually a huge bridge running over a river. We live just a few km down river.
The view is particularly pretty in fall with all the colours in the leaves. Winter brings different characteristics as the water leaks out of the rocks during warm spells and builds up in the freezing spells that invariably follow. Hopefully one of these days I'll get a pic of the large crystals that form.
Lovely! Many of the country roads in our area are surrounded by such rock cuts. I've always wanted to stop and get a shot of the frozen water falls that form on them in the winter, but there's usually too much traffic.
