When we start to see a light at the end of the winter tunnel, we seem to end up with flowers in the house. This year, the start of the flowers was a beautiful orchid. I've never found orchids particularly photogenic but I'll include this shot in the album to remind me of the beautiful plant we've been enjoying for the past month or so.
Orchids are the most diverse species with over 25,000 varieties and the only plant that blooms for a month or more in the dead of winter in the north. They need humidity, don't overwater [use an icecube every 2-3 days], and fertilize weekly.
