Pakenham Bridge by sunnygreenwood

Pakenham Bridge

I've posted pics of this bridge in the past. It's the only 5 arch stone bridge in North America and was the subject of a Jeopardy question a year or two ago. It's 266' long and was built in 1901 at a cost of $14,500. It spans the Mississippi River in eastern Ontario.

Another grey day. I'm going to post a blue sky soon tho! ;-)
Nice shot. That water is really moving I saw where the mississippi is expected to be 12' above flood stage in a couple of states.

I love these bridges...seen a really neat one in Guelph yesterday. When I have time I would like to spend the day there and take photos. The water there was quite wild like in your photo.

Wow it has lots of water running. I will have to take a photo of one of our rivers they are bone dry most of the time. It's a novelty for us to drive over a bridge that has water under it!
