Monk's Hood by sunnygreenwood

Monk's Hood

The monkshood [Aconitum] that was in bud a week or so ago has opened. The lighting was best from this direction and I was too tired to move the wheelbarrow, so you get that too. lol

Monkshood has an interesting history - it's poisonous and at the same time, is used medicinally.

This link talks about its uses, if anyone is interested in knowing more ....

Many thanks for dropping by.
Interesting information on the flower, Anne. It is really pretty. Do they normally bloom this time of year? I saw one plant that looked like a daffodil with a flower on it yesterday which I was surprised to see. Maybe I'll post it soon.

I like your POV and the wheelbarrow does not detract from the subject at all. Interesting information about the plant - thanks for the link

Lovely closeup of the aconitum, which is one of the latest flowers in the year to bloom. It's a great colour and the blue of the wheelbarrow echoes it. Nice with the golden leaves too!
