The Skating Pond

The sun had already set by the time we got the kids' skates on. Even with the warmth of the pot-belly-stoved hut it was too chilly to stay very long, but the little time we did spend there was the highlight of our 6 year old granddaughter's New Years Eve.

The "pond" is flooded regularly, shovelled and has perfectly straight "boards" of snow along the edges. It also happens to sport two brand new hockey nets!
