Coopers Hawk

Getting a view like this out your kitchen window and ending up with a pic like this is huge encouragement for a camera upgrade! lol. In defense of my current camera, the bird was a long distance away with many trees in between.

I'm not up on hawk id's - I think it's a coopers. Input from my birder friends is most welcome. I like how he/she looked behind to see what I was up to!

Such fun to be able to catch one - although situations like this make me talk to myself about trimming every darn small branch between my window and the nearest tree! Isn't it amazing how far they can turn their head?

I would love to have the trees to have them hang around...haven't got any little birds hanging around, so might as well have a hawk! Good eye and nice capture.
