The Rideau River winds it's way through Ottawa to the Ottawa River. Much further up-river [for those of you who remember some of my previous hiking and bird-watching pics] it's where we see the locks, several kinds of ducks, and a variety of other birds --- and where we feed bread to the fish on hikes along canal with the same name.
It was nice to be travelling on a bright sunny day --- and as it turned out, the last of the bright sun that we would see for a couple of weeks!
