I have become a big fan of B&W processing during my time at 365, but in this instance, and especially since it was a funeral rose, I prefer this colour version: it is definitely more sombre and supressed and would make an excellent cover for a funeral letter.

Love this in colour.

I like both shots equally, the tones in this one are really beautiful and as Eric says somehow really appropriate for a funeral rose.

Both beautiful, but I really like the b&w one.

Both shots are lovely for different reasons,, I am partial to the colored version...the highlight of dark edging on the petals is so striking. Lovely focus!

This is beautiful, I like the softness of this one and for me it works much better in colour than in b&w.

So now that I've seen both large, this is the one I prefer. This rose just has such a lovely color it's a shame to lose it to b/w. But I'm glad you tried both.

I love this colour version too

The subtle warmth of the rose's color hints at the emotional aspects traditionally associated with a wake or funeral. Elegant, mature and respectfully somber image.

Beautiful vintage look!

They are both beautiful. I like the b&w version very much but I think the tones have come out somewhat brighter in it. The more sombre tones here and the suggestion of purple (which was a colour associated with mourning and still may be, I don't know) have a more funereal look to them than the b&w. But was that what you were hoping to achieve?
