I have wanted to visit Pamukkale for so long as I can remember. This time I got to do so but what a disappointment it was, it didn´t look at all like the pics you see if you google it. It was really sad to see this once a spectacular place ruined, ruined by all the people visiting it. What once was crystal clear white has now turned into grey and most of the mineral pools were dried out. These pools were pretty much it, all that is left of the "cotton castle".
Magnificent shot. I know what you mean. I visisted about 30 years ago & it wasnt much better then In fact the hotels above were syphening the water off for their own use.
@joysabin Oh yes, it's sad cos this has been such a wonderful place one and there's nothing left but this small section that is under a protect - there's no swimming in these pools
It still looks really cool to me, but how sad is it? Here we are again, us humans destroying the beauty of nature... I'm sorry it was a disappointing realization :(
