Ziggy Stardust

I found this tribute to David Bowie whilst walking along Hunter Street. The white and yellow bits to the right are notes to DB. I'm waiting for art commemorating His Royal Purpleness. By the way Dami Im does a ripper version of Purple Rain.
wonderful street art

Isn't it fantastic. It is one of my favourite street art exhibits for the Hit the Bricks Festival.

I don't know if you know, but it was painted by a chap called Dan Prestage. Dan is a barber at Dead Head Barber Shop on Brown Street in Newcastle.

@ianjb21 @janemartin @navigator @adayinmallacoota @seattlite @pyrrhula @tristansmum Thanks for your comments. @onewing Babs you're amazing. I love the knowledge you have of the local area. You're my 'go to girl' in future if I need to know the history of anything. I'll have to check out Dan and his barber shop.

@susiangelgirl I just love street art and Newcastle has so many amazing artworks. The Hit the Bricks and TiNA festivals have helped street artists enormously. Look forward to the photos from Dan's shop, it is amazing.

Excellent street art. Looks like it's themed on the Labyrinth movie by Jim Henson.
