This is what I've been doing today, and I'm adding it as a reminder not buy or volunteer to do anymore furniture up.
I used to come home with all sorts of unloved furniture from the auction and give them a new lease of life by reupholstering and painting if needed.
This is an old table for my son, which had no takers, even for the grand sum of £3, so I just had to rescue it before it went for firewood. The plan is to sand the top and paint the legs.
In a few years time, people may fall back in love with brown furniture and youtube will be full of tutorials on how to remove the paint so lovingly applied in previous makeovers!
Wonderful golden image! I like your PoV and the lovely textures! Refinishing furniture is a lot of hard work. I tried it a couple of times and decided it wasn't my thing. It was one of my mother's favorite hobbies, that's why I thought I'd give it a try. That and the fact that the furniture always looks so beautiful when finished. I admire your expertise and dedication to 'saving' these pieces of unloved furniture. Would love to see the finished product. :-)
The pic tells a good story of your hard work.
