I'm a bit like a kid in a sweetshop a the moment.
I am reading of all these new techniques (new to me that is) I am also beginning to get to grips with editing and yesterday I downloaded Topaz studio.
My mother in law brought me a Heather yesterday so I took a few shots and also tried out ICM for the first time.
I quite like this result when I layered two together.
I then spent about an hour trying all different things in Topaz, which did make them much prettier, but decided I had faffed enough so left it as is.
Thank you for your recent interest and very kind comments, your lovey response to yesterdays green shot was a huge encouragement :)
Oh well done Suzanne! I decided not to go with Topaz because I ended up having to get another computer tower yesterday (laptop kept sparking and cutting out) but I did download the Nik collection of free filters. You must try them, they've added quite a few since I last downloaded them and they look like serious fun. Happy faffing!
@suesouthwood Thank you Sue. They do indeed look like lupins, but it just a plain old heather, or calluna as the pot tells me! I merged the two photos in gimp, a free download similar to PS I believe, I'm not sure if topaz can do this but it certainly has some lovely effects, most of them I have yet to explore. Well worth downloading as it is also free.
@fbailey Thank you Felicity, I must take a look at it. Quickly looking at Topaz it appears to have some lovely effects, perfect entertainment now its getting cold out there! Commiserations on the passing of you laptop by the way ;(
@pyrrhula Thank you Ferry, If you don't have any spare time it's probably not very wise to do anything with your photos, all my other hobbies seem to have gone out the window now!! If you are interested Topaz studio appears to be quite easy with lots of preset effects, it just takes time deciding which one to go for!
