Winter Sun by suzanne234

Winter Sun

The Humber Bridge, taken from the north bank, looking towards Barton-upon-Humber, with the Humber estuary looking deceptively pretty.
Beautiful

Beautiful shot, it really is a feat of engineering isn’t it?

@carole_sandford It certainly is Carole, I remember taking trips to see it been built

It's an immense structure and one that I have never used. Now that's an omission!

Fabulous shot of the bridge Suzanne. Where abouts in Lincolnshire do you live?
January 18th, 2018
@terryliv Thank you Poppo, were in a little(ish) place called Hibaldstow, about 18 miles south of the bridge, your welcome to visit should you ever be in the area :)

Whoa - that really is a feat of engineering! Does it move much in high winds?
January 18th, 2018
@fbailey Apparently up to 3 meters in the middle in high winds! I don't think I will be trying it out!

Beautiful capture of this bridge!

@suzanne234 The reason I asked was that one line of Rhoda's family came from the very small villages in Lincolnshire of Beckingham, Claypole, Sedgebrook and Scopwick but they are all to the south of Lincoln. There are a couple of others as well.
We have visited Lincolnshire a couple of times and spent a day in the Lincolnshire Records Office pouring over old parish records. We also visited all the known places and photographed the parish churches and the villages themselves. We used to have a lot of fun when we were on the genealogy trail as we called it or alternatively Looking for Dead People

Beautiful scene, I love the bridge :)

@terryliv How exciting, I hope Rhoda managed to find some long lost family. It sounds like you've visited more places than I have Poppo! We often drive through Caistor and probably have gone through the other places but I'm hopeless on directions.

Sure looks like a very long bridge. Great shot.
