The Wildwood by swillinbillyflynn

The Wildwood

My goodly pirate wench Kitty and I decided to go looking for adventure yesterday and our quest along the less trodden paths of Cornwall, led us to a truly beautiful place. We took a track we had never taken before and our spirit of adventure rewarded us in spades. After several miles, the track dwindled to nothing and we found ourselves in a new area of ancient woodland we didn't even know existed.

We love places like this where there are no signs of humanity anywhere to be seen, no people, no paths, no litter, no noise, no cultivation, just nature allowed to go it's own way

The sun was shining and the only sound was that of birdsong, the breeze in the treetops and a small babbling brook, fed from a large natural lake in the middle of nowhere.

I wish a photo could convey the sense of smell as everywhere you looked was a sea of wild garlic and the air smelt good enough to eat.

I won't tell you where this little piece of paradise is..... because if we told you we would have to kill you and dead men tell no tales.

Although my other picture for today may give a clue as to it's whereabouts.
Magically wild

So much beautiful spring growth, the white flowers look like snow. Nothing like a wood in Spring.
