In a few short weeks (if all goes according to plan) Kitty and I will be selling our shop in Mevagissey and looking for new adventures.
We have had the shop for 15 years now and it has been lots of fun and it has provided us with a good living. However we are reaching the age when we are looking to work a great deal less and play a great deal more.
We are avoiding the term "retirement" and are thinking of having a gap year to clear our heads and chill out for a bit. 15 years of full on retail has taken it's toll on us and a little R&R is definitely required to recharge our batteries and renew our vigour and thirst for adventure..
Where we go from there.... as Bob Dylan once said, the answer my friend, is blowing in the wind. No doubt it will involve the two items in the photo above, a large number of mad pirates and quite probably a camera or two.
I have a 9 month photographic exhibition at Heartlands next summer which will be exciting as they will be selling framed limited edition prints for me. It will be interesting to see how that goes.
The Pirates of St. Piran are already taking bookings for next summer, so we will not be completely idle.
Great photo... here's to not retiring, but raising the jib & setting the main sail for a new adventures. Trust all goes well for the Heartlands exhibition in Pool next year. Fav.
Oh!! I'm just seeing this now - selling the shop, well wow!! It's good you get a bit of time off. And clearly very much deserved, too. I hope the shop ends up in good hands... And most importantly that the two of you have a fantastic time off!!!
