The Ship Inn

So many of our local pubs and also our local breweries, here in Cornwall are really struggling through the endless lockdown. In fact one of our local breweries and it's chain of pubs has even had to resort to crowd funding to keep their business afloat.

I fear that many of them will not be reopening when the pandemic is over. I assume it is a similar case all over the UK.

At 72yrs young I have put my share of funding into the ale industry since the age of 13, after 23 yr at sea tried all local ales from Lerwick to Scilly Isles some really good ones and some rough ones. Now I help out our local Grainstore brewer here in Oakham they deliver to the door next day. As you say be a shame to see some of these small real ale brewers that have just got going go to the wall.

Fav. Such a sad tale for so many due to the pandemic. Pubs and restaurants were hit is hard.

even in New Zealand many hospitality and tourist businesses are closing down and we have not had the very lengthy lockdowns that you have had over there. people are continuing to work from home so even iconic eateries in CBD areas are closing.
