The Cornish love a nice Celtic Cross. There are so many of these types of memorials in every Cornish cemetery.
No one is entirely sure about the origins of the Celtic cross but there is an Irish legend that says that when Christianity first came to Ireland, St. Patrick merged the Christian cross with the Pagan circle representing the sun, in order to appeal the indigenous Pagan population.
