Spatchulina in Mercury

This little Gull is called Spatchulina. I couldn't resist taking her photo as she sailed across the mercurial sea. She has been a little distracted in recent days...... I knew it was a mistake to loan her my Friedrich Nietzsche books. I think she may have been peeking into the abyss.

Now anyone who follows my 365 project is just going to have to accept the following facts.

1. I talk to gulls
2. They talk back to me.
3. Some of my best friends are gulls
4. They all have names.
5. The gull naming ritual is a very ancient and complex process which is just way beyond the comprehension of us mere humans.

That's just the way it is. OK. :)
Believe me, we who know him accept this madness as part of who Swillin Billy Flynn is. Don't be put off, those of you who haven't come across him yet are in for a treat of poetry, humour and some plain silly stories. He is regularly photobombed by a lighthouse, I know the lighthouse personally and it really is a bugger to keep out of the shot - it sneaks in when you're not looking. I differ from his opinon of shite hawks (sorry, seagulls to the uninitiated), but he does get good shots of them, and from time to time gets a good shag as well.

@sgtpepper Us pirates know a great song about a one eyed cormorant looking for a shag. :) I will have to send you the words sometime. I think you would appreciate it. :)

@shepherdman The over cast skies did make the water look like mercury today.

Lovely. I think Spatchulina looks rather serene in her mercury surroundings - but obviously you know her better :)
