Cornwall this morning is shrouded in the most dreadful toxic smog. Most of the country is being hit by it but Cornwall seems to be getting the worst of it. A quick trip into town had me coughing. Most others in the street were also choking on the stuff.
This is all most distressing as Cornwall has very little industry, light traffic and is surrounded by the Atlantic Ocean which usually gives us some of the freshest, cleanest air in the country.
This has all come over from France I gather.... Can't we generate enough pollution of our own, without importing more from France. :)
Anyway, I have a cunning plan. If everyone in the UK at 10pm this evening, goes outside, faces due east and blows hard for about 5 minutes, this should generate enough wind to send the bloody stuff back where it came from. Spread the word.
Sorry France..... but it was your pollution to start with. :)
Oh lord.... The air here (St Andrews) has been much worse than usual, I've been getting the allergy type sneezies a month earlier than normal.
I'll try blowing from here too!
@swillinbillyflynn Just looked out of the window, we wre now geeting some weird pinkish kind of cloud lowering ito place. Thankfully don't have to go out this afternoon.
Heard about this smog in the news.....sorry it is spoiling your Cornish air. Maybe we will be safe in East Anglia.....until you all blow east!!!
Lovely image with the bending of the tree and the pine beyond.
Was lovely on Dartmoor today even though a haze on the horizon! (Did take my inhaler just in case but not needed! Think as had mydartmoorwalks with me his magic protected us! )
Hadn't realised it was smog. It has been an aweful day here too. smog, fog, low cloud, grey, and COLD. Will we even glimpse the solar eclipse?
I like your photo (better not say blip) though.
haha, I love the English's way against France, I have a trio, the other two are English and French, I can see the fun teasing all the time.
You should thank the beautiful smog sent from France.
In Texas USA, in the Springtime, we get the southerlies wind up from Mexico where they are burning out rainforest and smog hangs over us for weeks at a time
I'll try blowing from here too!
Love the imag Btw.

Nasty stuff though particularly for those with asthma or other breathing problems.
