Toxic Smog by swillinbillyflynn

Toxic Smog

Cornwall this morning is shrouded in the most dreadful toxic smog. Most of the country is being hit by it but Cornwall seems to be getting the worst of it. A quick trip into town had me coughing. Most others in the street were also choking on the stuff.

This is all most distressing as Cornwall has very little industry, light traffic and is surrounded by the Atlantic Ocean which usually gives us some of the freshest, cleanest air in the country.

This has all come over from France I gather.... Can't we generate enough pollution of our own, without importing more from France. :)

Anyway, I have a cunning plan. If everyone in the UK at 10pm this evening, goes outside, faces due east and blows hard for about 5 minutes, this should generate enough wind to send the bloody stuff back where it came from. Spread the word.

Sorry France..... but it was your pollution to start with. :)
Ewww so sorry

Oh lord.... The air here (St Andrews) has been much worse than usual, I've been getting the allergy type sneezies a month earlier than normal.
I'll try blowing from here too!

Heard about this smog in the news.....sorry it is spoiling your Cornish air. Maybe we will be safe in East Anglia.....until you all blow east!!!
Lovely image with the bending of the tree and the pine beyond.

@swillinbillyflynn Woory not, bottle of single malt at hand, purely for medicinal purposes of course...

I heard about this on the news... please be safe and filter your air through a nargile (hubblebubble ) pipe full of scotch and water.
March 19th, 2015
@Cherrill To be honest they say it is heading off west across the Atlantic tomorrow..... so East Anglia should be safe enough. :)

Hadn't realised it was smog. It has been an aweful day here too. smog, fog, low cloud, grey, and COLD. Will we even glimpse the solar eclipse?
I like your photo (better not say blip) though.
March 19th, 2015
It looks nice in the photo but, apparently, it is not nice at all.
March 19th, 2015
Hadn't heard about this before and we were unscathed in Gloucestershire. Makes for a lovely shot though :) Hope it passes soon

haha, I love the English's way against France, I have a trio, the other two are English and French, I can see the fun teasing all the time.
You should thank the beautiful smog sent from France.

Nasty stuff though particularly for those with asthma or other breathing problems.
March 19th, 2015
@kassidypup I can't comment on that ...... I have only been to Wolverhampton once and that was because I was drunk and fell asleep on the train. :)
