Maelstrom by swillinbillyflynn

Maelstrom

These two ducks were chasing each other in ever decreasing circles. I assume it is some sort of mating ritual but it seems to be the wrong time of year for that. Maybe it was some young males trying to establish the pecking order. I'm sure there some duckologists out there who can tell me.

Although I have noticed that the mating habits of ducks aren't very gentile to be honest. None of the beautifully graceful and elegant courtship dances that other birds use to woo each other...... it's a quick frantic chase and an unceremonious wham bam thank you mam.

Although to be fair I know a few blokes who are like that.
This is... busy!
