Back Ally

I am always pleased when I stumble across a scene like this. It's like stepping back in time.

So much of our social and architectural history is being torn down and destroyed to make way for soulless modern boxes and financial gain. I see it in St. Austell all the time. Beautiful and irreplaceable Victorian architecture torn down because it is more profitable to put up a bunch of small modern apartments or small boxy houses than to renovate the original buildings.
This is an awesome ally. It is a real shame when interesting buildings are replaced with crap ones.

Instant fav mate! I love this, it reminds me of some of the 'closes' up here, timeless, interesting and scary in some cases.

@sgtpepper Be careful Alf...... you can sometimes find pirates lurking in dark back allies. Do you have pirates in Scotland? :)

Thankfully there are those of us who wish to preserve the past through our photography. I honestly think it is a disgrace not to invest in renovation of our architectural history. I think the reason is call politics!

I wish this place is protected from the modern development. I like the 3 windows at the far end that pull my eyes along the path. Great shot!
