This rather splendid cormorant seems to be a permanent resident in Mevagissey Harbour these days.

There doesn't seem to be a mate in evidence. However, any jokes about him looking for a shag will be treated with the contempt they deserve. :)

We had to make up a reason to the kids why the adults were all sniggering on a boat trip from Penzance when this joke was made.

do they hold their wings open to attract a mate or is to cool off. Often seen them doing this in Meva

@jennyjustfeet They do it to dry their feathers off after an underwater fishing session I believe.
