Tropical Paradise

We had a hankering for sandy beaches, palm trees, blue skies and bright sunshine. We considered jetting off to some remote desert island..........

but thought "naaaa... lets just drive up the road to Carlyon Bay."
OK ok!! I like St Ives for that! Such an unenglish photo - but then Cornwall isn't England right?!

What a beautiful bay, I guess it wasn't quite as balmy as it looks :)

Swinging BIlliy would you be happy to give a bit more detail as to where exactly this shot is? Really want to visit it over xmas - are they still doing construction works?

@cottiac Info and maps are here http://www.thebeachguide.co.uk/south-west-england/cornwall/carlyon-bay.htm

It was once the home of the Cornwall coliseum which as a great music venue back in the day but developers pulled that down and have been trying to build a huge apartment complex there for the past 10 years. They completely trashed the place and turned it into a building site. They built huge sea defences which were all smashed to piece by the first storm that hit them. The local council forced them to completely clear the site after that and it is really starting to look good again now. I think the apartment complex idea has been abandoned for the time being.
