Money Tree by swillinbillyflynn

Money Tree

It is said that hammering a coin into a tree will bring wealth and good fortune. This is an old tradition and some ancient trees have been found to have old coins imbedded in the very centre of their trunks dating back hundreds of years.

At Heligan, these fallen tree trunks provide a place for such practices without damaging any living trees.
Love these trees - may be a UK tradition as when I put a picture of one on a while ago a few people had never seen or heard of the tradition!

Cool photo. Very interesting...I am not familiar with this custom. Maybe that's why I am not wealthy! :)

I wonder if the tradition helped. We had a money tree, but it died. ha ha.
