sunrise around here is just before 7am and I was over the fence and out in the paddock ready for it...the fog had rolled in overnight and had settled over the field and a great sunrise it was ...took a few shots and turned to the west and got a couple of nice bird in tree shots...i noticed the moon in the western sky and managed just one shot..after downloading and giving it a huge crop i knew this was the one ....here we have "the bigger picture"....this project is letting me see the true beauty of this world and beyond...cheers john
FANTASTIC ! A better picture, with more detail than would be found in National Geographics ! This is indeed, "The one" Well worth the early rise. Such clarity of craters & detail. Another title could have been "larger than life" Well done !
@leananiemand ...hi Leana...glad you like this shot...and thanks so much for your fav too...hope your remarkable journey is giving better road conditions today...
@lbluejaye8 ..hi Laurie...i didnt think it would as most of my moon shots dont work so well...maybe the angle of the sun or just good luck....anyway...thanks for your comments...cheers
OMG! We study the moon in my class this year. FOr review, I am going to show them your pic. This is breathtaking. I want to show them this because they have to learn the concept that the moon also rotates (like Earth) but since it does one SLOW rotation as it does one revolution around the Earth, we see the same side the whole entire time..this side we recognize so well. The other side is much less dramatic...
What a FaVulous shot of the moon! And isn't it fun to have that experience. I did that with a sunrise once....my moon shot didn't turn nearly as great as yours. FAV...sorry I missed it previously
