the waters off Cairns are home to some of the worlds most dangerous creatures.....the Box "stinger" Jellyfish can cause extreme pain or worse if touched... and the salt water Crocodile is Australia's largest and most dangerous reptile reaching up to 6 to 7 metres long....both inhabit these waters...swim if you must ...but please be carefull...
Knowing that about what lurks in these waters, I think I'd just be content to lounge on the sand and watch the risk takers brave the wilds. Nice action shot of the beach.
Tourism Australia won't be happy with you!! Scaring all the tourist from overseas - -they have a great fear of all our "nasties" :) Happy swimming if you're game :)
@terryliv huh? I presume that will help out with the stingers.....but what about the crocs? Or is this the Aussie version of Canadians afraid to go in the bush because grizzly lurks there?
@mjalkotzy After I posted I realised that John had mentioned crocs too. Panty hose not much of a deterrent there. :-) But I get your point about exaggerated dangers and yes it could have been taken in that context also for the crocs
