Went to a static exhibit of old aircraft and cars today after I worked this morning. The sun was out, sky blue and a pleasant day to wander around. This is a Fairey Gannet. In the brochure it says, "A later anti-submarine and patrol aircraft featuring the unorthodox Mamba 'double' engine and contra-rotating propellers. The museum's Gannet was operated from HMAS Melbourne.
Anyway, I didn't think there was anything too fairey about it. It was a big, mighty piece of machinery.
