Swooping In

I was challenged this week by @suez1e to take a panning photo. This guy was up in a tree surveying his surroundings and decided to catch a fish. Hope it satisfies the panning technique, as I did follow his movements somewhat..
@suez1e Here is my panning photo. Thanks for this exercise, it really is a challenge for me!

Most people pan cars or cyclists. You?? You do an eagle!! Brilliantly!!!

Great timing. Panning cars or cyclists is hard enough. A bird even more challenging.

Fantastic capture. Panning usually involves slower shutter speeds form more background blur. Such a result is overly ambitious for a bird of prey on a dive.

@30pics4jackiesdiamond Thanks! Glad it is considered panning. The only thing around the marina fast enough to pan. The seagulls were not cooperating!

@suez1e Thank you, I was so glad to spot him in the tree and stood for about 25 minutes waiting for him to take off.

@tdaug80 Thank you for your comment. I have photographed birds in the past with my "sport" setting on the camera, but knew those settings wouldn't allow a slower SS for the blurred background. This was a real experiment.
